Corns and Callus (Hyperkeratosis)
Treatment of Corns and Callus is one of the most common reasons that people visit Podiatrists.
They can occur on any area of the foot and vary in appearance and thickness.
Some people feel extreme pain and discomfort such as burning as a result of a corn or callus, whilst other people are unaffected.
If corns and callus are left untreated they can result in serious complications including significant pain, ulcers, biomechanical and foot structure changes, systemic infections and even amputations. They should be considered of particular concern to diabetics who have a significantly greater chance of developing the serious consequences.
